Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster

My brilliant and adorable student Ivy Willis was generous enough to write her very first book review for Love Hate Books. She is a bright young lady who will one day do amazing things in life! I hope you enjoy reading her book review.

Hello,
My name is Ivy Willis. I am a 2nd grade student in Mrs. Carpenter's class. I am eight years old. Mrs. Carpenter asked if I could write a review on her book blog and I said yes! Some of my favorite things to do are to play games with my mom and dad. I like to play video games and play outside too. The other day I was lucky enough to meet an author for the first time. Her name was Michelle Nelson-Schmidt and she was very nice. She is now one of my favorite authors! She came to read to our school. She read some of her books to us and showed us paintings she had painted herself. I thought the paintings were very good and looked realistic! My favorite book was Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster. I liked the book because it showed that you arent always going to have bad things happen to you in life. It showed that Jonathan James was brave enough to take chances. I thought the pictures were very interesting and cute! I hope Mrs. Nelson-Schmidt can come visit our school again very soon! When she came to our school I bought 5 books from her and I love all of them! I recommend all of her books. Your children will love them just like me!
Love,
Ivy

Vampires Academy by Richelle Mead

A great friend  recommended this book to me. She told me I needed to read this book because there was a movie on the book coming out soon. It took a couple of weeks for me to get around to it but when I did, I did not stop.

This book is about an Academy where Vampires and their Bodyguards which are half vampire and half human and are called Dhampirs. The academy, St. Vladimir’s, is a hidden school for vampires and the Dhampirs. The vampires are taught to use their magic and the bodyguards learn to fight and protect.  Rose is training to be a bodyguard for a  vampire named Lissa. She is a royal princess and Rose has been Lissa’s bestfriend since childhood. They have a strong connection that is rare and not many people know about . Trying to keep it a secret is challenging. While Rose is spending her days in training with the upper ranked bodyguard she finds herself struggling with romantic interest  in her instructor. Then there is Mason a great friend of Rose , he would like to be more then just her friend. But she can not decide if she has romantic interest in him or just a friendship.

I did enjoy this book. I would recommend this book to everyone, if you like young adult books. I am looking forward to starting the next book in this series. So far it looks like it will be a promising series.
