Summary:

Aislinn has lived her entire life with the sight.  She can see faeries and all their terrible activities as could her mother and grandmother before her.  She lives by very strict rules to never let the faeries know she can see them and still tries to live a normal teenage life.  Suddenly, all her rules prove to mean nothing when the faeries from whom she has carefully avoided notice begin to follow her. The world that she worked hard to keep stable will be turned upside down and changed forever.

Review:

Of all the types of fantasy subjects out there, this book addresses my favorite, faeries!!! Summer and Winter, Light and Dark, powerful and dangerous, Loving and Evil.  I feel such a connection to the story when I read about the world or underworld of the mythical, magical, troublesome Fey.  Faeries in every shape, size, color, and mood are included in this story.  Melissa does such a fantastic job at descriptive story telling that every major scene in the book played out clearly in my head as if it was happening right before my eyes.  This book would be especially perfect for those who are being introduced to urban fantasy as you will fall in love!  There is a great connection in the story between the history and myths behind faeries and the speculative fiction of this book I would be very excited to see this book on the big screen only if Melissa is there to make sure her vision was held true.

Notable Quote or Part

My favorite part of the book would have to be a tie between two things!  I love the quotes that she uses at the beginning of every chapter.  Chapter 26: If we could love and hate with as good heart as the faeries do, we might grow to be long lived like them.  —The Celtic Twilight  by William Butler Yeats.  Secondly was the first paragraph in chapter 14 when Aislinn discovers being stuck between a rock and a hard place involves her sexy “boyfriend” and a faery king.  Oy vey life is so unfair! =)  Here is the first paragraph: By the end of the week, Aislinn was sure of two things— being with Seth had become beyond tempting, and avoiding Keenan was utterly impossible.  She needed to do something about both situations.

So many books, so little time!! ***Tiffany***
