We decided to plan this event as a full “girl day/night”!!!  We left beautiful Austin, Tx at 7am with our Starbucks coffee in hand!  It was a gorgeous drive without any traffic and we arrived in Dallas at the hotel Le Meridian around 10:15.  Allow me to say this hotel is designed with women in mind.  Everything is elegant with a pop of fun! All the outdoor lights are bright pink!  There is delightful scrolled wallpaper everywhere! Grey couches with vivid pink pillows and the rooms are just as fun and exciting as the lobby.  And, the valet gave us the down low that next year it should be even better! Can’t wait!  We will definitely be staying here again.  The room prices are great. The customer service had some hiccups but after the initial check in issues everyone seemed wonderful.   The only complaint I had was the breakfast. Typically hotels have a bar with cereal, yogurt, etc free for their lovely guest and Le Meridian wants $15 for theirs!! Seriously not happening If they corrected that little issue I would give them 5 stars, 5 thumbs up, 5 hearts and so on and so forth!

On with our day! =We checked in, dressed in the adorable matching shirts that Christina so kindly made for us and ran across the street to the mall for lunch where we did something we never thought we would do!!! We had a BOTTLE of wine with lunch!! That’s right mommies around the world! We had wine at lunch! Even if our fun had ended there, I think we would have died happy. LoL
After lunch, we grabbed our matching book bags and headed to Adventures in Fiction!  This event was more than we could have hoped for!  We met so many fantastic people! Beautiful, kind, fun, energetic women that all share a love of reading and writing.  I have to say this weekend is going down in the books as one of my favorite.  There really is something to getting that feeling where you know you are a part of something bigger.  And even though being a “reader” is still looked at as taboo and some secret society, it’s people are everywhere and when you find a way to put us all together that's when the magic happens!
The event was superb and we are going to do some mini posts on each author we met and chatted with so you guys can get to know them also and we will follow with reviews on their books accordingly.  Obviously we ran to Rachel Caine’s table first =) and the poor thing! She was exhausted but still really excited about the ball later that night.  I know I mention this all the time but really she is an amazing human being.  One of the kindest souls and she just lights up when we chat about her books.  We <3 her! =Here are the other authors we met and as said before we will follow up with individual posts: Traci Andrighetti, Kathy Bennett, Emily McKay, Tracy Wolff, Helen Kay Dimon, Jay Crownover, and Sylvia McDaniel.  There were A LOT of authors there and the few we had a chance to talk to took up quite a bit of time so fortunately we met the ones we met and unfortunately there were plenty there we didn’t get to meet… Can’t wait for next year!
Now for the Prince of Shadows Masquerade Ball!  Just kidding that gets its own post! Oh yes, I’m a little evil… =)  I will say Rachel’s husband was there and he is clearly where she had the idea for Oliver from the Morganville series and no Benvolio was not in attendance, however we still had an amazing time! Keep watch and I will have the post about the ball up really soon! <3 <3 <3 Tiffany
